HOLLADAY, TRUMAN GEORGE (1906 ~ 1981). The following is a biography for Truman Holladay, longtime state employee and Commissioner of the State Securities Board. Holladay was granted plots at the State Cemetery through a governor's proclamation.

Truman Holladay was born December 10, 1906 in Hico, Texas to Ruben Holladay and Anna Stringer Holladay. He graduated from the University of Texas in 1932 with a bachelor's degree in banking with a minor in accounting. Following graduation, Holladay worked in the University of Texas Auditor's Office. 

Holladay worked as an accountant for the State Treasury, State Auditor's Office and State Securities Board. He was Commissioner of the State Securities Board from 1969 until 1972. Holladay was a state employee for 40 years.

During World War II, Holladay served in Italy for two and a half years from 1943 to 1946 and retired as a captain. While in Italy, he earned a Bronze Star and a Presidential Citation. Holladay was a Baptist and a Freemason. He died April 24, 1981 and was buried at the Texas State Cemetery shortly thereafter.
