HUNTER, T. R. (1838~1910) T.R. Hunter was born in Texas in 1838. During the Civil War he served in Company I, 34th Mississippi Infantry in the Army of Tennessee. The 34th was also known as the 37th. He enlisted on April 24, 1862. The 34th fought at Farmington, Perryville, Murfreesboro, Chickamauga, Franklin, and Nashville. The 34th, 29th, and 27th were consolidated into the 24th Regiment. They were surrendered April 26, 1865 and paroled at Greensboro, North Carolina.

T.R. Hunter lived in Aubrey, Denton County where he was a member of the Methodist Church. He was a widowed farmer when he was admitted to the Confederate Men's Home on February 3, 1910 where he died June 8, 1910.
