T. J. Brim

BRIM, T. J (1830~1908)T.J. Brim was born in 1830 in Indiana. During the Civil War, he served in Company H, Whitfield?s Legion in the Army of Tennessee. The 4th Texas Cavalry Battalion, which was formed by Whitfield in Lavaca County in early 1861, merged with the 27th Cavalry Regiment and became known as Whitfield?s Legion. They fought at Pea Ridge, Iuka, and Corinth. They later were remounted under Ross? Texas Cavalry Brigade.

Brim came to Texas in 1853, and lived in Fort Worth, Tarrant County. He was a carpenter who suffered from heart trouble. He was admitted to the Confederate Home on June 3, 1908 where he died September 29, 1908. He had a son, C.H. Brim, who lived in Denton, Texas.
