ADAMS, SUSAN P. (1837~1923) Susan P. Adams, Confederate widow, was born in approximately 1837. According to Travis County Court Records, Mrs. Adams was from Taylor in Williamson County. After entering the Confederate Women's Home, she had to be transferred to the Austin Lunatic Asylum, now the Austin State Hospital. On May 3, 1923, she was declared mentally unfit to stay in the Women's Home. Once at the Asylum, Mrs. Adams only lived for another eight days before she passed away on May 11. She was buried in the Texas State Cemetery the next day.
