BLACKMON, SARAH C. (1839-1923) Sarah C. Blackmon was born in Geogia in 1839, to William Hudspeth and Malinda Scott. She was a daughter of a Confederate veteran, as well as the wife of a Confederate soldier. Franklin Blackmon married Sarah on November 27th, 1856, in Harris County, Georgia. In 1899, it was listed on her pension application that she was widowed and never remarried. At the time of her application, she had been living in Upshur County, Texas for two years. Eventually, she moved to the Confederate Women's Home where she died on October 10th, 1923. She was interred the same day.
