ROBERTSON, JR., SAMUEL HOUSTON (1929 ~ ). Former Appeals Court Justice Samuel Houston Robertson, Jr. was born September 29, 1929, to Samuel Houston and Ethel Lee Bray Robertson in Broadmoor, Texas.
He attended public schools in Lohn, Texas and graduated in 1947. After high school, Robertson received both his Bachelor of Arts in 1951 and his Juris Doctorate in 1957, from the University of Texas at Austin. Between degrees (1951 ~ 1953), Robertson served in the US Army where he attained the rank of corporal.
In 1957, he was appointed Assistant District Attorney for Harris County. He held that job for 20 years. After resigning from Harris County, Robertson ran for the newly created 262nd District Court. He won that position in 1978 and presided over the court until 1981, when he ran for and won a seat as a Justice of the 14th Court of Appeals.
He retired from the bench in 1994.
