Robert D. Hunt

HUNT, ROBERT D. (1838~1899) Robert D. Hunt was born in Mississippi in 1838. He moved to Texas in 1849 and joined Company E, 21st Texas Cavalry, Carter's Regiment, Walker's Division when the Civil War started. The 21st Texas Cavalry was referred to as the 1st Texas Lancer and saw action primarily in Louisiana.

Following the War, Robert Hunt worked as a farmer and lived in Sweet Home, Texas, which is located between Yoakum and Hallettsville. Mr. Hunt was married twice. He was admitted to the Confederate Men's Home on April 27, 1899. Robert D. Hunt died on June 18, 1899 and was buried at the Texas State Cemetery.
