ROSSON, RENAL BOYD (1919 ~ 1998). Renal Boyd Rosson was born December 24, 1919 to Oscar C. and Eula Priscilla Rutledge Rosson in Breckenridge, Stephens County, Texas.

Moving with his family to Snyder, Scurry County, Texas, Rosson attended Snyder High School, Texas Tech University, and the University of Texas Law School. From 1942 to 1945, he served in the United States Air Force and retired as a Captain, where he received the Purple Heart, five Oak Leaf Clusters, the Distinguished Flying Cross, and the European Theatre Medal.

Afterwards, Rosson returned to Snyder to practice law and served two terms as District Attorney for Borden and Scurry Counties. Rosson also served the people of West Texas in the Legislature. Elected as a Representative in 1959, Rosson went on to serve for sixteen years after being re-elected to seven consecutive terms.

In 1975, Governor Dolph Briscoe appointed Rosson to the Texas Health Facilities Commission where he served until 1979. Rosson has not only served the State of Texas, he has also served his community as a Deacon in his church, a member of the Snyder Chamber of Commerce and Lions Club. He was also a 32nd Degree Mason and served on many other boards and committees.

He died January 12, 1998 in Snyder, Texas after a long illness.
