BORDEN, NANNIE DENTON (1854 ~ 1949). Confederate widow Nannie Denton Borden was born on April 7, 1854 in Ashley County, Arkansas. She was born to James B. Cone of Georgia and Malinda Dean of Alabama.

She first married John B. Denton of Denton, Texas. She drew Denton's Confederate pension for a number of years. Denton was a Methodist minister in Arlington, Texas until his death. She lived in Arlington for 30 years and had three children with Denton named W. M. Denton, Ernest E. Denton, and Mrs. Floyd Honecker.

She then married John W. Borden of Missouri and lived with him for 13 years, 10 in the Confederate Men's Home until his death. Borden served in Company B, 8th Missouri Cavalry, Prices' Brigade, Shelby's Division, Trans-Mississippi Army during the Civil War. The 8th served extensively in the Western Theater.

Nannie Borden entered the Confederate Home on November 1, 1929 and transferred to the Confederate Women's Home on March 15, 1941. She died on December 15, 1949 and was buried at the Texas State Cemetery next to her second husband.
