Nadine Nayfa Craddick
CRADDICK, NADINE NAYFA (1947 ~ ) Nadine Nayfa Craddick, wife of Tom Craddick, was born February 21, 1947, in Roscoe, Texas, to Jo and Fred Nayfa. After graduating from high school in nearby Sweetwater, she attended Texas Tech University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1969.
Shortly after graduation, she married Thomas Russell Craddick and taught elementary school. After her husband's election to the Texas House of Representatives, Nadine began working with her husband and became a complement to him and his career.
Throughout her life, Mrs. Craddick has served the city of Midland and the State of Texas and her faith, in numerous capacities. From 1993 to 1994, she was chairwoman of the Midland Chamber of Commerce, was a member of the Midland Hotel/Motel Tax Advisory Board and helped found the Midland County Families in Action. From 1988 to 1989, she served on the Governor's Commision for Women and is a sustaining member of the Republican Women's Club. Mrs. Craddick has also been recognized by the Catholic Church and is a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, a papal honor.
Together, the Craddicks have two grown children, Christi and Thomas R., Jr.
