Milton Andrew Stover

STOVER, MILTON ANDREW (1961-) Milton Andrew Stover was born in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas on July 14, 1961, to Earl Bishop, Jr. and Juanita Griner. He was raised nearby in Silsbee, Hardin County, Texas. His mother, father, brother, Earl Bishop III, sister in law and wife Lori Ann are also interred or to be interred at the Texas State Cemetery in Statesman’s Meadow.

Stover received his Bachelor of Arts in the field of Government from the University of Texas at Austin in 1983. In 1987, he received his Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas. Thereafter, he was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1988.

Upon receiving his law license, Stover worked as an Assistant Attorney General, Office of the Attorney General of Texas in the Civil Enforcement Division from 1988-1990. In 1990, he was hired as an Assistant District Attorney, Criminal Prosecution Division, for the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office. In 1994, Stover returned to the Office of the Attorney General of Texas to work in the Prosecutor’s Assistance and Special Investigations Division where he assisted in the investigation and prosecution of criminal matters throughout the State of Texas. In many of these cases, he worked with the assistance of the Texas Rangers. In 1997, Stover was hired by the United States Department of Justice as an Assistant United States Attorney for the United States Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Texas. There, he worked as a federal prosecutor in the Plano, Texas office of the Sherman Division. Stover worked there until his retirement.

Stover married his wife, Lori Ann, in 2014. Stover met Lori while she worked in the Office of the United States District Court, Eastern District of Texas. She worked there as a Deputy District Clerk and a Judicial Assistant to Federal Judge Richard A. Schell for over 25 years. Both native Texans enjoyed their careers dedicated to public service and were proud to serve the citizens of the State of Texas.
