Martha Ann Hunt Rogers

ROGERS, MARTHA ANN HUNT (1849 ~ 1936). Confederate widow Martha Rogers was born on January 30, 1849 in La Grange, Texas. She was born to William Hunt and Lucindy Gaines both of Alabama.

She married Confederate veteran Tom Martin just after the Civil War. She then married Confederate veteran John Turner Rogers. It is uncertain when either marriage took place or why they ended. Martha Rogers had one child, William Martin. She had one granddaughter named Mrs. Mabel Oldham.

Martha Rogers entered the Confederate Woman's Home on May 14, 1933 from Houston, Texas. She died on June 18, 1936 after several months in the Home's hospital. She was buried at the Texas State Cemetery.
