Margie Lee Cannady Hood

HOOD, MARGIE LEE CANNADY (1926 ~ 2001) Margie L. Hood, a longtime resident of Cedar Hill, was born October 27, 1926. She worked for the Dallas County Fire Marshall for 20 years, 10 years for the State Firearms Pension Commission. She also worked for the Dallas County Treasurer's Office and was office manager for the American Lung Association, and while there, she became president of the Texas Public Health Association. After retiring, she moved to Austin and worked for Bob Bullock during his term in the State Comptroller's Office and also became president of the Austin Business and Professional Women's Association. Mrs. Hood passed away on January 24, 2001, and was buried three days later in the Texas State Cemetery. Information taken from Austin American-Statesman, January 26, 2001.
