PEÑA, MARGARET ELIZABETH MACLEAN (1931 ~ 2016). Margaret Elizabeth Maclean Peña, wife of Gilbert J. Peña, was born August 19, 1931, in Boston Massachusetts to Hector D. and Barbara T. MacLean.

She attended high school in Boston and graduated from New England Deaconess Hospital Nursing School. She was on the Nursing Staff in several hospitals in Boston, Houston, Laredo, and Austin. She was an active registered nurse in both Massachusetts and Texas for more than forty-five years.

Peña was a life time member of the Daughters of the American Revolution Boston Chapter and was the great grand - niece of the twentieth President of the United States, James Abram Garfield.

Margaret and Gilbert J. Peña, of Laredo, Texas, were married on August 18, 1961. They have two sons, Gilbert Austin and Mark Gregory Peña.

Peña died on May 23, 2016 and was interred at the Texas State Cemetery on May 28, 2016.
