BOWMAN III, LUCIUS LINTON (1928 ~ 2010). The following is an obituary for L. Linton Bowman, the obituary was provided by Weed - Corley - Fish Funeral Home.

L. Linton “Lin” Bowman, age 81, of Lakeway Texas, passed away Monday, August 9, 2010. Mr. Bowman was born November 3, 1928 in Greenville, Texas.

Lin graduated from Greenville High School, East Texas State University in Commerce, TX, and later attended The University of Texas at Austin.

Lin served as Executive Vice President of Mutual Savings and Loan of Greenville for 23 years and later served as an officer of the State Savings and Loan Commission in Austin. After retiring from the Savings and Loan Commission, Lin and Barbara moved to Rockwall Texas where they lived for several years before moving to Lakeway in 2002. Lin always loved the Texas hill country.

Some of Lin’s favorite activities were entertaining friends and family with folk songs, fishing, and playing with his grandchildren. Lin was also an avid golfer as many of his Lakeway friends will attest to.

He is survived by his wife Barbara of Lakeway; son Carey Bowman and wife Kim of Austin; daughter Sarah Bowman McCoy and husband Todd McCoy of Dallas; two grandchildren, Maggie and Sam Bowman of Austin; and cousins Harriet Halsell and Betsey Wilbanks of Dallas; and cousin Bowman Wilbanks.

The family wishes to sincerely thank all of the wonderful friends that we have had the honor and pleasure to have known over the years.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 15th, 2010 at Weed-Corley-Fish Lake Travis Chapel followed by a reception in the Magnolia Room.
