IN LOVING MEMORY OF
LILLIAN BREETZ FEHRENBACH
November 27, 1930 – September 1, 2025Lillian Breetz Fehrenbach was born on November 27, 1930, and was called home by the Lord on September 1, 2025, at the age of 94. A woman of deep faith, strength, and unwavering love, Lillian leaves behind a legacy filled with joy, laughter, and cherished memories.
The daughter of a shrimp fleet owner, Lillian moved with her parents from Morgan City, Louisiana, to Brownsville, Texas, at the age of 19, after studying at a business college in New Orleans. In 1951, she married the love of her life, T.R. "Ted" Fehrenbach, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in devotion, intellect, and shared purpose. The couple settled in San Antonio in 1954.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ted; her parents; and many dear aunts, uncles, relatives, and lifelong friends. Though she will be deeply missed, the thought of her reunion with loved ones in Heaven brings comfort to those who mourn her passing. Truly, Heaven has gained a treasured soul.
Lillian is survived by her beloved adopted granddaughters, Giavanna and Isabella, who were the pride of her heart; her nieces, Mardel and Lauri Fehrenbach; her nephews, Nikolaus and Charles Fehrenbach; her godson, Maverick Fisher; and her cherished cat, Simon. She also leaves behind extended family members and countless friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Lillian lived her life with passion and a zest for experiences. She found great joy in fishing, hunting, traveling, shopping, gardening, sewing, collecting fine art, and, of course, a good evening Scotch. She was the proud author of *The Pedernales Country Cookbook*, published in August 2000, of which she sold over 5,000 copies. One of her favorite weekly traditions was enjoying Friday luncheons at her favorite restaurants with her dear friends, Stephen and Rochelle.
A vibrant member of San Antonio’s social and cultural scene, Lillian was a longtime member of the Argyle Club, the Petroleum Club, and Christ Episcopal Church. She cherished the community and companionship found within these beloved institutions and formed many lasting friendships there.
Those who knew Lillian will remember her warm smile, quick wit, and steadfast loyalty. She deeply valued her friendships and family, always treasuring the connections that enriched her life.
Twelve years ago, Lillian suffered a stroke, yet she continued to live a full and purposeful life, thanks in large part to the devoted care and companionship of Rochelle and Stephen. Their love and dedication were a blessing, and the family is forever grateful for their presence in her life.
Special thanks and heartfelt appreciation go to her healthcare team—Dr. Smith, Virginia, Dana, Chela, Paula, Tonya, Nina, Lynda, and Josie—who stood by her side with compassion and dedication until the very end.
Lillian’s life was one of faith, hard work, and love—a life well lived, and a legacy that will continue to shine through those she touched.
