Lewis W. Clampitt

CLAMPITT, LEWIS W. (1848 ~ 1910). Confederate veteran Lewis Clampitt was born in Texas in 1848.

According to Confederate Men's Home roster records, Clampitt served in Company A of Moran's Regiment in the Trans-Mississippi Army. No brigade or division information is known about Moran's Regiment.

According to records, Clampitt never married, was a native Texan and worked as a "cow man" in Barksdale, Texas before applying for entrance into the Confederate Men's Home on March 1, 1910.

He was admitted into the home due to neuralgia. Clampitt died April 2, 1916 and was buried in the Texas State Cemetery on April 3, 1916.
