ABINGTON, KATHERINE RUTH SALISBURY (1922-1998)

The following obituary was taken from the Austin American-Statesman, August 15, 1998.

Katherine Ruth Salisbury Abington, wife state representative William Henry Abington, was born February 28, 1922, in North Platte, Nebraska, to Arthur J. and Katherine Salisbury. While attending the University of Nebraska, she became active in the Chi Omega Sorority and later served as a chapter advisor in Fort Worth and Dallas. After marrying William Henry Abington, they had two children, a daughter, Judith Ann Abington, and a son, Thomas E. Abington. Mrs. Abington passed away on August 13, 1998, and was buried at the Texas State Cemetery four days later.
