John Wood

WOOD, JOHN (1787~1845) John Wood was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in 1787 and later married Miss Eliza Baba Hunt. During the War of 1812, Wood served as a Lieutenant Colonel in Clairborne's Regiment of the Mississippi Militia. Mr. Wood was also a Veteran of the Texas Revolution and died in Austin, Travis County, Texas in 1845. The Augustus Jones Chapter, U. S. Daughters of 1812, placed the marker erected in the State Cemetery for him. Information taken from War of 1812 Veterans in Texas by Mary Smith Fay.
