John J. Miller

MILLER, JOHN J. (1832 ~ 1907). John J. Miller was born in Mississippi in 1832.

He moved to Texas in 1858, resided in the Dallas area, and at the start of the war joined Company H 16th Calvary in the Watterhouse Brigade. Capt. Miller was part of the Lopez filibustering expedition as well as the Walker expedition in Nicaragua.

After the war, Miller returned to Dallas and was a cooper by trade. On January 16, 1905, Miller was admitted to the Confederate Men's Home and died there on January 24, 1907.
