JOHNSON, JANE(1845~1941). Jane Johnson was born on September 11, 1845 in San Augustine County, Texas to Dr. Adam Johnson of Virginia and Frances Wright of Alabama. Jane never married, but she and her mother supported the Confederate cause by carding yarn and weaving materials for uniforms and nursing sick and wounded soldiers. Jane was buried at the Texas State Cemetery because of her aid to the Confederacy during the Civil War. Jane Johnson died on July 23, 1941, at the age of 95 years, and was buried the next day.
