KEENE, HENRY BRADFORD (1930 ~ 2002). Henry Bradford Keene, a fifth generation Texan, was born October 20, 1930, in Ivanhoe, Texas. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and later earned a B.B.A. from the University of North Texas and a M.A. from Sam Houston State.
After retiring from Texas Instruments, where he worked for 27 years in various management positions, Keene was appointed by Governor Bill Clements to serve as Chairman of the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles. Keene continued as a board member under Governors Ann Richards and George W. Bush. After retirement from Texas State government, he worked as a criminal justice adjunct professor at Collin County Community College.
Henry Bradford Keene dedicated over 18 years of voluntary service as a sworn Reserve Officer with the Dallas Police Department and was a longtime local and state Republican Party activist. He died September 7, 2002, in Dallas.
