HEAD, FRED CHARLES (1939 - 2025). The following is an obituary for former Texas House of Representatives Member Fred Head. The obituary was published on the Austin American Statesman's website on April 29, 2025, 

ATHENS — Fred Charles Head, 86, of Athens, Texas passed from this life on Saturday, April 26, 2025. He was born in Troup, Smith County, Texas on February 22, 1939, to Lou Ella (Wilkinson) and Alvie Charles Head.

He was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, attorney, state legislator, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Fred Charles Head, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Marsha (Langston) Head; daughters Cindy, Cathy, Mimi; son Mike; grandchildren Katie, Clara, Sloane, Felix, Chad, True, Regan, Freddie; and great-grandchildren Tristan and Catalina.

A celebration of life is being planned for a date in May.
