Evander Wallace

WALLACE, EVANDER (1848~1931) Evander Wallace was born in Richmond County, North Carolina in 1848. He served in Company A, Fitzhues Regiment, Walker?s Division. The company was mounted toward the end of the War to round up deserters. He enlisted at Old Waverly, Texas. He returned home with Captain Daugherty.

Wallace came to Texas in 1859 and lived in Houston, Harris County where he was a member of the Methodist Church. He was a widowed farmer. On August 14, 1930 he was admitted to the Confederate Men?s Home. Evander Wallace died April 15, 1931 and is buried at the Texas State Cemetery.
