INGRAM, ELIZA JANE BRANUM (1852-1945) ~ Eliza Jane Branum Ingram was born on March 17, 1852, in Hopkins County, Texas to Captain Meritt Branum of Missouri and Eliza Ellen Finely of Indiana. Eliza grew up along with her siblings: Polly, William, Rachel, Albert, Harvey, July, Victoria, Milton, and Maloney.

Eliza met James Riley Ingram after he moved to Hopkins County in 1886. They married on October 2, 1887, and together they had two known children: Ellen G., who was born in September of 1888, and William C., who was born in July of 1891. There was one other son, James A., who was born in December of 1884, to James R.s first marriage.

Eliza worked in the home and took care of the children. She lived in Hopkins County up until her marriage to James and then they moved to Hunt County, Greenville, Texas. She and James both lived there together until their move to the Confederate Mens Home in Travis County, Austin, Texas on May 24, 1935.

Eliza stayed in the home until her husbands death on August 11, 1939. She then was transferred to the Womens Confederate Home on March 15, 1941. There, she passed away the day after Christmas on, December 26, 1945. She was interred at the State Cemetery on December 30, 1945, next to her husband.
