MINOR, BERTHA QUEBE (1915 ~ 2006). The following is a family-placed biography for Bertha Quebe Minor, wife of Edward Allen Minor, former member of the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.

"Bertha Quebe is from Washington County near Brenham, Texas. Her mother, Emma Quebe was a widow with six children who ran a 600 acre farm. Emma was a model of independence, competence, and respectability. Bertha always knew that she would go to nursing school and become a Registered Nurse. In 1930, she was a nursing student at Seton Infirmary in Austin, Texas. On December 22, 1936, she married Edward Minor. After they were married, the young couple lived and worked in some other towns around Texas. In Port Arthur in 1940, Bertha nearly died of malaria. When she recovered, they returned to Austin for good. The couple built a house in the then-remote area called Rollingwood. Bertha and her family have maintained Quebe Farm and the original home in Washington County since 1887."

Bertha Minor died on December 15, 2006 and was buried at the Texas State Cemetery on December 18, 2006.
