SMITH, ARLING DALTON (1947 - 2025). The following is the text of a memorandum sent out by the office of the Honorable Dustin Burrows, Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives upon the death of Dalton Smith, former Texas House member. The memorandum was sent out on February 5, 2025. 

The Honorable Arling Dalton Smith, Jr. passed away. Representative Smith represented part of Houston and Harris County in the Texas House from 1988-1995. A private burial will be held at the Texas State Cemetery on Friday, February 7 at 2:30 PM, with a public reception to follow at 3 PM.
