Annie Mariah Wingate Reynolds

REYNOLDS, ANNIE MARIAH WINGATE (1850 ~ 1937). Confederate widow Annie Mariah Wingate Reynolds was born on June 15, 1850, in Jasper County, Mississippi to R. H. Wingate and Elizabeth Woolforth, both of Mississippi.

She first married George W. Reynolds, of Mississippi, and later, Theodore Watson Reynolds. It is unclear whether the two men were related.

Theodore Reynolds was a lieutenant in the Fifth and Second Louisiana Regiments in the Army of Northern Virginia. Theodore Reynolds married Annie Reynolds on February 14, 1875 in Hinds County, Mississippi. He died on November 16, 1884.

She had two children, Robert E. Reynolds and Mary Elizabeth Reynolds, who married Charles Gustav Waldemar Talen.

Annie Reynolds moved to Texas in 1900 and settled in the Beaumont area by 1902.

Reynolds entered the Confederate Home on January 5, 1933, from Houston, Texas. She died on February 14, 1937 in Austin and was buried at the Texas State Cemetery.
